Yulia is a handmade Victorian Papier Mache dish.

She is finished in traditional black lacquer.

She has a dynamic scalloped serpentine body. Inside her dish is detailed hand painted flowers and butterflies, gilded details of flowers and leaves along with an exotic bird taking central form in red and blue colours. 

She would have been used as a bread bowl

Yulia has some distressed wear to the lacquer and her edges, with some chips and cracks which signs of a restoration. This all enhances her antique and used charm. 

She dates 1860c
