Delivery & Returns
We ship internationally Monday to Friday using a tracked service by DHL which takes any time between 1 - 8 days. Due to the many variables in calculating international shipping, e.g. size, weight, value, fragility, the price for international delivery is set, based on total value of your order so you have a clear indication on exactly how much you will be paying before you complete the check out, so please refer to the pricing table below. However please feel free to contact us if you feel the price calculation is not representing the size and weight of your order as we can re asses the total order for you.
Where items are to be exported from the United Kingdom, all customers are responsible for complying with any duty charges into the country of destination. International deliveries are sent by tracked express service.
As a standard International dispatch and delivery can take between 3 to 4 occasionally up to 8 days and will require a signature at recipients end. Delays may occur due to customs delays
Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU)
The Urban Vintage Affair only takes responsibility for shipping the product, and requires the customer to pay any import costs, such as VAT, duties, and clearing fees.
If for any reason you are unhappy with your item please contact us first and I will do my best to resolve the problem. Please inform us within 48 hours of delivery by email. Goods must be returned within 14 days and in the same condition as originally sold for a full refund excluding postage costs. Return shipping, postal or courier charges are at the customers expense. Please make sure you obtain proof of postage and sufficient insurance and that the item is securely packaged. Refunds will be made once the item has been returned.
In the unfortunate event of items damaged in transit, please send clear photographs and email to firstname.lastname@example.org within 24 hours of delivery. All original packaging must be kept in order to process a compensation claim.
Packaging & Gift Wrapping
Function over fashion! This meaning that safety is priority when packaging up, we want you to receive your unique items with appropriate protection. So we sometimes over protect, with extra fill and reinforcement, delicates in double corrugated boxes We always pack items very carefully using a variation of cardboard boxes, paper bags, various weights paper wraps as well as extra eco friendly filling materials to protect the items against any poor drivers transit damage.
The postage price you pay for shipping includes the cost of shipping as well as packing and protection materials.
If your order is a gift going directly to the recipient, we can include a complementary personal message card from you for no extra charge. If you would like this service please let us know (at checkout or via email) what you would like us to write (to fit on a postcard)
We are doing our bit to avoid plastic waste, so instead of using new plastic bubble wrap, our special formed eco wrap is constructed manually with a special paper form machine that can be placed anywhere without the need for electricity. By locking the angled cells together, items are securely wrapped without the use of ugly tape. This is then reinforced with our colourful branded ribbons. We have also started using paper tape as a replacement to plastic parcel tape. All our packaging paper is a recyclable from renewable sources, our colourful tissue paper is acid-free to protect your silver purchases. Even our DHL boxes made from recycled materials.
Yes our packaging is designed to keep your products safe and from harm in transit. Once that job is done, then please, we encourage you to reuse before recycling. That’s one of the reasons we use quality materials and always wrap your orders to look somewhat pretty. Read more about our Real Packaging Rules
