The Mixologist Bonnie - Antique Paper Mache Box In The Shape Of A Book

Bonnie is a rare Antique Vernis Martin box in the shape of a book

In a reddish-brown lacquer,  one side of box features exquisite courting scene, of lovers and putti in the 18th manner 

Other side larger scene is lady in the country with three angels or cherubs on the side. Small scene at top is of a two cherubs.   

The artworks are hand painted with gilded scroll surrounds. Sides are gold gilt 

Vernis Martin lacqueur is a true gem from the Victorian period.

The lift off lid reveals the red lacquered interior, loose fitting lid just sits on top.

Bonnie has some scratches and wear throughout and some breaks on her inside rim. She is well used with some scuffs and marks.

Her size is suitable to fit plenty of postcards, pamphlets or letters. Stylish space saving desk or bookshelf tidy
