The Duchess Cara - Rare Silver Plate Lemon Squeezer

Cara is a stunning and uniquely designed antique lemon / citrus squeezer and strainer 

She is in quality English silver plate

Her size perfect for squeezing oranges, lemons and limes 

Her very clever engineering  is easy use, her handles open to allow the halved fruit to be placed face down over the strainer. Closing the handles pushes a curved fork around each side which interlock together and squeezes out the juice, while the strainer keeps any seeds and pulp from entering the container.

Her makers marks on her handle are for William Hutton & Sons

Cara dates late Victorian

Cara has small of ware to her plating towards her neck of the handles however she is in good condition for her age and is fully useable and certainly a prize find.
