The Director Jamie is a small vintage copper printing plate featuring a detailed portrait of a smiling gentleman dressed in casual attire. This commercial plate, dating from the early 20th century, is believed to be connected to the Russian play Don Cossack Chorus & Dance, reflecting cultural and theatrical influences of the era. As an authentic piece of printing history, it offers valuable insight into the artistic and social context of its time, making it a significant collectible for enthusiasts of vintage printing and theatrical memorabilia.
These were basically photographic images transposed onto purpose made copper plates, which were then arranged and fixed at whatever point of the page they were to be used at by means of pins (the holes of which can still be seen)
Use these unique plates purely for decorate effect and add non glass frame, or more functional coasters and trivets. Or maybe collect a few as a decorative project as wall tiles. Plate dates 1920c
