He is in Old Sheffield silver plate on copper,
George's based design is gadrooned decoration with shells which is carried through on the sconces.
His columns are plain, terminating in the sconce again with a Rope Twist design. They sit firmly on loaded circular bases
George has the telescopic design the stem holds firmly in place when extended.
He has no makers marks – Most Old Sheffield Plate is not marked Commensurate with age and use the candlesticks show wear of the copper base which actually adds to the charm of candlesticks. Maker is possibly Viners or walker & Hall which were known for there shell decoration.
Old Sheffield Plate stopped manufacturing in 1850. So we date him pre 1850's
