The Director Einstein - Antique Wooden Potato Masher

The Director Einstein is a delightful treen potato masher dating 1800s.

He is an English turned wooden piece in yew or sycamore

A superb pole lathe supported by fat rounded knob. Turned from one piece of solid wood. He is of simple yet clever construction, designed to turn mash potatoes.

Einstein has a very nice colour and has acquired a soft and silky patina over the years.

He has a few aged chips and cracks all event from a hard mashing life, otherwise he is in good sturdy condition for its age and free from wood worm.

The patina of treen is not always easy to put across digitally and this is truly one where you have to see and feel it to understand and appreciate its quality.
