Antique Retractable Agate Gold Leaf Burnishing Tool

This is is a Burnishing tool with a natural translucent stone agate tip. Has brass colour metal holder that retracts the agate in an out of the barrel, hat allows the stone tip to be safely stored inside the protective metal casing.

Traditionally used for fixing and smoothing down foil, after a heat applied book binding embossing tool is used. The tool is used to rub the embossed foiled design, so the foil stays secured onto the leather surface. Used with leather book covers and small handmade leather goods inclining boxes and trays. Can also be use to burnish other crafting, such as pre fired clay.
