Possibly but just guessing, Mary Petherbridge (1870–1940)who was an Official Indexer to H.M. Government from 1918 until 1940 .Business: Founder of the Secretarial Bureau in London (set up in 1895), which trained women in professional indexing and translation. Author of the 1904 textbook The Technique of Indexing.
