This is the seventh edition dated 1881 an illustrated chronological guide to the history of architecture in England , an important work that played a significant role in the Gothic Revival movement.
The terminology Rickman introduced in this work is still widely used today to describe different styles of English medieval ecclesiastical architecture.

The pages show signs of foxing and discolouring however all pages appear to be present and in good order for its age. Leather has some scuffs and patina, especially along the edges. Spine is missing other cover at top.
