Recently our brand hosted a special curated Antiques Show and Tell and Fashion Shopping Event. The Urban Vintage Affair’s collaboration with Colibri Boutique in Islington, London an evening where vintage antique homeware accessories, jewellery and contemporary fashion collided in a stylish way.
Hosted within Colibri, an independent boutique known for premium European designer labels, this invite only gathering was designed as more than a shopping event. It became a conversation. A meeting point between history and modern culture.
The evening was sung with “wow,” “amazing,” and fascinated responses throughout, the concept struck exactly the right note.
A Different Kind of Antique Experience
The idea was refreshingly simple. Gather a community of curious, fashion conscious guests. Add cocktails, fizz in an inspiring surrounding. Then introduce antiques not through glass cabinets but through storytelling, touch and experience.
Coming from a fashion background, the collaboration felt instinctively right. Both our brands celebrate craftsmanship. Both reject sameness and both offer the thrill of finding something that feels entirely your own.
Cristina the owner of Colibri and her team. shared that vision wholeheartedly, bringing warmth, enthusiasm and a genuine appreciation for vintage and antiques.

The atmosphere felt intimate, stylish and quietly exciting, less formal lecture, more an inspiring conversation. Rather than presenting antiques as untouchable pieces, guests were encouraged to engage directly. To hold them. To imagine them within their own homes and lives.

Each setting offered practical inspiration and a reminder that antique home décor is not about recreating the past, it is about incorporating into the present.
Guests were able to try on the jewellery, ask questions and explore craftsmanship up close and connect with the pieces.
For most attendees, this was their first close encounter with vintage jewellery and antique homeware accessories. And that matters. because entering the world of antiques can feel intimidating from the outside. The formate of the event made the reality far more welcoming.
A Hands-On Evening
The interactive nature of the event became one of its greatest strengths.
Guests participated in mini quizzes and explored how antique styling ideas can feel approachable rather than intimidating.
Refreshments, generously provided by Colibri, added to the sense of occasion, along with thoughtfully curated goodie bags, (complete with boutique discounts) ensured guests left inspired long after the evening ended.
