Just been visiting Olympia London for the Art & Antiques Fair which is currently celebrating its 46th edition from 20 – 27 June, showcasing 160 leading specialist dealers from around the world. My notebook and camera were on the prowl for something interesting to share with you guys, the exhibitors were more than happy to assist.
This fair represents an inspiring selection of rare and beautiful pieces including art, antiques, jewellery and collector’s pieces. This exceptional and original shopping destination presenting a diverse collection of products and pieces with a focus on craftsmanship, quality, interior design including garden features for a luxury lifestyle.
During my visit I had the opportunity to gain insight and advice from leading experts not just in antiques but from, the interiors and art industry, proving that this fair is the destination for lovers of stylish interiors, art , antique lovers and dealers from all design styles and eras. This including more recent mid century styles at Ed Butcher back to medieval style of the 17th Century pieces at Kate Thurlow.
This season I was pleasantly inspired by the quality of the modern art shown, giving the antique fair more colour, texture and modern edge amongst the antique woodwork, and salvage plaster pieces. I favoured the refreshing pieces found at Paris Art Web and Rebecca Hossack Art Gallery
Always pleased to find a few antique oddities at antique fairs. Unusual pieces spark interesting and educational conversation from excited exhibitors. These will come into good use for our next Facebook #Quiz where followers have to guess what the item is.
We also spoke to new exhibiting company, Peacocks Finest, A pair of cool dress fellas named Paul and Alexander who have been going for just four years selling antique furniture through digital and recently acquired a bricks and mortar store from the growth of their business. Whilst other stores are closing it refreshing and encouraging to see this company have opened a retail store. Peacocks Finest attracts customers looking for special pieces of colour, texture and character. Taking pieces with mix of gothic, renaissance antique and vintage into each furniture piece.
I left the exhibition feeling inspired by the exhibitors creativity in product selection and creative displays providing us with some instagramable visuals to share with you. See our recent saved stories ‘Antique Fair’ on our Instagram
