The Tattooist Ingrid - Antique Lacquered Cream Floral Plaque
The Tattooist Ingrid - Antique Lacquered Cream Floral Plaque
Ingrid is a handmade papier mâché / light wood oval plaque
She is fully lacquered and hand painted flowerers, leaves and swirls and her muted colours remain present especially in her red and blue.
Her reverse is marked Made in Japan
She was possibly used as a trivet or table mat for serving tea.
Ingrid is a sturdy plaque with evidence of crazing to her lacquer, some wear to her paintwork, and some small mild wear round the edges, which is evident of use and age.
She dates 1890c and is Japanese
