The Mixologist John - Antique Paper Mache Tea Caddy

The Mixologist John is a very pretty antique oriental paper mache lacquer tea caddy 

His is small in size with a rounded body shape with beveled hinged lid.

John is expertly hand crafted, exterior finely gilt painted on all sides with classic Chinese chinoiserie style landscape figure scenes, in gilt also including finely detailed flowers, and motifs on a black base.

His inside is also finished in the traditional black lacquer, which is well preserved. 

John also has a removable patterned and beaten lidded paktong liner

He has a brass lock (no key) and metal inlayed escutcheon.

John has lots of wear to his surface and decoration, with his original finish very well worn, there are warps and shrinkage, and cracks separations from age use and natural light. Charming antique condition. 

This is a highly collectable, authentic and striking item decorative and functional
